What did Prophet Mohammad (sav) say about kindness ?
Every religion has a distinctive virtue, and the distinctive virtue of Islam is modesty.
That person is nearest to God, who pardons, when he has someone in his power, one who would have injured him.
The exercise of religious duties will not atone for the fault of an abusive tongue. A person cannot be a Muslim till his heart and tongue are so.
Certainly, people will follow you, and certainly people will come to you from all quarters of the earth to understand religion; when they come to you, guide them toward goodness.
God’s kindness towards His creatures is more than a mother’s towards her babe.
Truly God instructs me to be humble and lowly and not proud, and no one should oppress others.
You will not enter paradise until you have faith; and you will not complete your faith, till you love one another.
Faith is a restraint against all violence, let no Muslim commit violence.
Whoever among you sees an evil action and can change it with his hand (by taking action), let him change it with his hand. If he cannot do that, then with his tongue (by speaking out); and if he cannot do that, then with his heart (by hating it and feeling that it is wrong), and that is the weakest of faith.
The proud will not enter paradise, nor a violent speaker.
Allah will not be merciful to those who are not merciful to mankind.
Kindness is a mark of faith, and whoever has not kindness has not faith.
Deal gently with the people, and be not harsh; cheer them and condemn them not.
Prophet Muhammad’s Humbleness and Simplicity
Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) himself was never greedy. He ate very little and only ate simple food. He preferred never to fill his stomach. Sometimes, for days on end, he would eat nothing but raw food. He used to bind stones onto his belly to appease his hunger and considered milk as sufficient if he did not have any other food.
People used to ask his wife, Aisha, how he lived at home. “Like an ordinary man,” she would answer. “He would sweep the house, stitch his own clothes, mend his own sandals, water the camels, milk the goats, help the servants with their work, and eat his meals with them; and he would go and fetch what we needed from the market.”
Umar bin Khattab said:
“I entered upon the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) when he was (sitting) on a reed mat. I sat down and (saw that) he was wearing a waist wrap, and there was no other barrier between him and the mat but his waist wrap, and the reed mat had made marks on his side. And I saw a handful of barley, nearly a Sa’, and some acacia leaves, in a corner of the room, and a skin hanging up. My eyes flowed with tears, and he said: ‘Why are you weeping, O son of Khattab?’ I said: ‘O Prophet of Allah, why should I not weep? This mat has made marks on your side, and this is all you have accumulated, I cannot see anything other than what I see (here), while Chosroes and Caesar live among fruits and rivers. You are the Prophet of Allah and His Chosen One, and this is what you have accumulated.’ He said: ‘O son of Khattab, does it not please you (to know) that (these things) are for us in the Hereafter and for them in this world?’ He said: ‘Yes.’”
